Team Discipline Plan

Each infraction of team rules will result in the student's name being placed on the Team Daily Discipline Sheet. Five (5) behavioral infractions will result in After School Instruction. Assignment of After School Instruction could result in forfeiture of the team reward, whether that is a movie, field trip, pizza/popcorn/ice cream party, etc. Accumulation of 3 ASI's within the semester will also result in Saturday School being assigned.

More serious infractions, such as fighting, profane language/gestures, willful disobedience and/or disrespect to authority figures, etc., will be referred to the principal in charge of discipline.

Conflict resolution/mediation sessions will be scheduled for students who consistently have peer-relationship problems.

Students with behavior problems may be assigned to a NO TALKING table in the cafeteria during lunch.

Students failing to have daily assignments must complete a form stating the reason. These forms will be kept on file and sent home with report cards/portfolios.

Team Information
  • 1. All homework is to be done in pencil unless otherwise directed by the teacher.
  • Late homework will be accepted for excused absences only. This work is due within three school days after an absence, and it will not be accepted after that time except for extreme circumstances. Special arrangements must be made for extended absences. Students may call the Homework Info Line (474-3134 Code 2707) daily to check assignments.
  • It is the student's responsibility to obtain missed assignments after an excused absence.
  • Students have the responsibility as part of the Trailblazers to help keep our school clean. Paper is not be to left in the desks or on the floor. Students are never to deface or damage school property in any way.
  • The classroom is not a place to comb or brush hair or to put on make-up!
  • At the end of class, the teacher, not the bell, dismisses students.
  • During the middle of the six weeks, a progress report will be sent home to be signed by the parent and returned.
Team Procedures

In addition to school and system-wide procedures, our team has established the following procedures to help insure that this year runs smoothly. Discipline will be fair, equal, and firm.

  • Be prepared when class begins. This means that pencils are sharpened, the assignment is on the desk, and the students are in their seats. Students should not expect to go to their lockers, the water fountain, restroom, or anywhere else during the class period, except in an emergency. This is for their protection.
  • Be respectful of others and others' space which includes, but is not limited to, raising your hand and waiting to be recognized before asking a question or making a comment. It is impolite to talk while the teacher is talking, while another student is talking, or when a guest enters the room.
  • Be responsible. Students will turn in their assignments on time, and the assignments will be properly labeled. All assignments will have the student's first and last name, the subject and class period, the date, and the page or chapter number in the upper right corner of the paper. Points will be deducted for not following directions.
  • Be safe. No running, scuffling, or throwing objects of any kind in the classroom, hall, bathroom, or cafeteria.
  • Any form of cheating is an automatic zero.
